Supporting the Yorkton SPCA . . .
We are a small "stand-alone" shelter that relies on donations in order to keep operating, donations are vital to the well-being of the animals in our care.
We do not receive funding from the provincial or federal government, nor are we connected to other "SPCA's", we all have our own regulations and board of directors.
Their are many animals in need, and the fundraising never stops. Donations are used to provide care, food, toys, cleaning supplies and operational costs.
There are many ways you can help!

Making a Donation
You are always welcome to visit and leave a donation, or send one in if you do not get into town often. If you prefer online then please feel free to visit CanadaHelps, or click on the symbol to the right! It's really easy to set up as a monthly donation too, how convenient is that for all the busy people out there! No amount is too small - please help us today! Keep in mind that we are only able to issue tax receipts for donations of $10.00 or more.

More and more popular these days we have been receiving donations in lieu of exchanging Christmas and birthday gifts.
Many of the schools, city and rural are raising money for the shelter too, from sidewalk sales to "shoot offs" . . . what a great way to have fun while raising money!
Leave a Legacy
A bequest to the Yorkton SPCA will help animals after you have gone. By remembering the Yorkton SPCA in your will, pets in the future will benefit from programs and efforts to protect them from abuse and neglect. To make a bequest to the Yorkton SPCA we suggest that you consult with your lawyer who will ensure that your wishes are followed. Make sure you specify the Yorkton SPCA so your bequest goes to the proper shelter.
One can also leave memorial donations to remember a friend or relative that has passed on, or the loss of a beloved pet. We will send the next of kin a beautiful memorial letter. All donations to help animals and nature are gratefully acknowledged with a receipt for income tax purposes for the full amount of the donation.
Bottle Drop Off
We can turn in your empty recyclable bottles and cans into much needed funds! Please drop them off in the front vestibule after hours or in the office during visiting hours.

Volunteer
The Yorkton SPCA can not express the unending gratitude we have for our volunteers! We could not continue without the valuable contribution of our volunteers. Volunteering provides the opportunity to share knowledge, acquire new skills, meet new people, discover new challenges, and make a difference. Whether they are walking a dog, grooming a cat, sorting recyclables, cleaning, raking, weeding, helping with fundraisers, the list is endless . . . their dedication is priceless!
If you love animals, are at least 13 years of age and can give us whatever time you can manage, we can promise you a good feeling and lots of excitement. Drop in to the shelter for a volunteer form, together we can make a difference in the lives of stray and unwanted animals in our community.
Shop and Share
Each time you make an online purchase from any of Shop and Share's 50+ popular Retail Partners, YOUR favorite local charity or non-profit organization receives a generous, automatic donation. Vacations, clothes, books, gifts, electronics, toys, kitchen supplies, cosmetics, and more - whatever you want, we've got it, and it won't cost you a penny more!
Supporting our Annual Garage Sale
One of our biggest fundraisers, SPCA Annual Garage Sale, is held every spring in the front yard of the shelter. If the weather is co-operating our volunteers are out setting up before the crowds appear. The support is amazing and our many volunteers are out there reminding the garage sale goers while they eat up a hotdog or two from the Bar-B-Q that a local business sponsor's . . . to keep in mind and reach a little deeper in their pockets as every nickel helps support our animals. For info on dropping off Items for the Annual Garage Sale or being our next Hot Dog Bar-B-Q sponsor, please call the office to find out when the next date is and when we are accepting gentle used/clean items. (sorry, no clothing please)
Supporting our Annual Dog Walk
Another one of our biggest fundraisers, Dr. Brian's Friends For Life Dog Walk. In the year 2015 it will be our 20th dog Walk . . . we can't wait to celebrate! This is a group of supporters that raise pledges before the fall event and then usually beginning of September, Dog and Owner, and Supporters may or may not participate in the one of two routes to walk in support of Dr. Brian Culham our founder. For more information please call the office.
